a. What was the theme of the reading? 2 letters written about the Christian Eucharist in which Cannibalism is assumed by the first. Then the Second explains what actually when on.
b. Cite a specific idea/phrase that stood out to you. The "promiscuity" of calling each other Brothers and Sisters written by the first author was confusing. Possibly a different meaning than what we see as "promiscuous" now a days.
b. What new ideas did it generate? None. But if the first author were to have gone to a church service where they are having the Eucharist Ceremony now a days, they would have had it explained to them properly.
c. What modern parallels do you see? People's misunderstandings of christian views and their assumptions that what we do is wrong.
d. How does it relate to the text? The spread of Christainity in that time created such an uproar that someone wanted to try and accuse the entire community of 1 crime so they could all be dealt with.
